Design in 1926 by Peter Gannon, Villa d'Este has rapidly become one of the gems of European golf courses, much of which is due to a location close to the long Lake Como, where mall harbours give way to exotic gardens around superb villas.
George Clooney is a great fan of Como Lake and not difficult to see him playing out of the local courses.
